900 Broadway, also known as the Goelet Building, is a historical structure located at the corner of Broadway and East 20th Street in the Ladies' Mile Historic District of Manhattan, New York City.
It was designed by Stanford White of McKim, Mead & White and built in 1886–1887. The building was originally a six-story mixed-use structure that gently curved around the 20th Street corner, featuring a two-story arcade with variegated voussoirs and a colorful yet restrained design using contrasting terra cotta and brick.
In 1905–06, the building was enlarged by Maynicke & Franke, who demolished the original sixth floor and added five new floors that blended well with the original design. This expansion maintained the building's elegant appearance, which is notable for its time.
The Goelet Building was designated as a New York City landmark in 1989. In 1977, Zoltan Justin purchased the building and, along with his son Jeffrey, restored it to its original glory by cleaning the facade and removing non-historic elements.
Historically, the building has hosted various tenants, including the National Sewing Machine Company and apparel firms, reflecting its role in the millinery and apparel district of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
